Sometimes I wonder if I make up half of my crises. I think my entire life is one gigundous lie. That would suck.

Crisis are personal. That is their nature. If you get and ulcer from not having the latest Outkast CD or if you develop a drinking problem because you arent going to be able to pay the rent, your family is faling appart and your most likey going to be missing half of yourself for the rest of time...it all doesnt matter a crisis is a crisis. They are equal value to me. Human suffering is bullshit no matter how its served up. You just have to weigh, personally, what suffering you care to tackle. The value you place on each type of suffering is as personal as the crisis itself. If you get my drift.

the level of the crises should concern humanity. Crises are ultimately personal experiences...their levity toward others (and to yourself) can fluctuate. The same crises that affects one man (starvation) has the ability to affect others (concern and distress for the starving man) in a different but still personal way.
So I agree completely...

I think crisis is relative-- for some people, crisis means not having enough food to feed their entire family.

Compared with them, everything in our lives is paled. But that does not mean that, to us, they aren't serious. People get ulcers, depression, and suicidal feelings in this country, and we're pretty well off.

It's a strange thing. Good to keep ourselves in perspective, but you can't shrug everything off like you're an Invincible Superman. It'll burn you out.

crises occour at every level of humanity. The man who struggles to feed is family...is his crises greater? If it is, then greater to whom? To him it certainly is, but it is not to us. Should it be? Hunger is not an accurate analogy, as it is a crises of humanity rather than the crises of an individual.
