Sometimes you're faced with a fork in the road, as they say. Sometimes you can take one of two paths. You go down either of the paths and the way behind you is shut. It's like a door shutting behind you. You are forever committed to that lonely road.

What if you took the wrong one? Is there anything that can be done?

So, yes, there are some things in life that are irreversible. Our natural tendency is to maneuver in such a way as to keep all of our options open. But as you age, life closes in around you, as each decision you make cuts off one of your options in favor of another. Don't listen to those who say you can go back. Listen instead to Frodo, who upon returning to the Shire, found that it no longer was to him what it once was to him.

Its life. Dive in and have fun.

Personally I'd have to agree with the bird. you can definitly always go back, but how is that good if you spend your life constantly fixing the repercussions from one mistake, or maybe more? I say just don't do it again, and continue on with your life. Put it behind you, no regrets, yanno?

You can always make your own road.

You can always go back...unless your chosen path has influenced another. That's when things start to suck.
