Star Wars
I still don't really like Episode 3. However, out of the prequels, it does have the best score. Which really isn't saying much, I guess. Nah, that's not true. It's actually a pretty good score if you pay attention to it. It's especially good during the Order 66 sequence. That right there is some of John's best work in recent years. Of course, it still doesn't touch the beauty of Jurassic Park, but I digress.
Now, as many problems as I have with Episode 3, I must make a few concessions. One, Order 66 is a tremendously emotional sequence(to me, at least). And two, the battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan delivers on all the fury and rage and terror that it should. I think it approaches the level of power and ferocity of Maul vs. Jedis. Yeah, the end is lame. Yeah, Anakin's still a horrid actor. Yeah, the movies have become spectacle over drama. But, sometimes, Georgie Lucas can come through with some suprising panache.
I'm done rambling.
