Ben Smelton
The more of Ben Elton's work I watch, the less I like his writing. He seems like he just gets lazier and more repetitive with his jokes, and relies far too much on breaking the fourth wall to resolve his jokes.
In particular, Blackadder jokes are repetitive.
Blackadder: This is about as [some negative adjective] as [absurdly wordy and extensive description of something hyperbolically stupid that isn't really very funny at all.]
Repeat that fifty times an episode.
Filthy Rich and Catflap is addicted to breaking the fourth wall.
FRaC: Joke, joke, joke, increasingly absurd situation, stakes rise, chances of resolution are slim. 'OH, WELL, I'M SURE THE WRITER WILL FIGURE A WAY OUT OF THIS, HURR HURR! OH, THE MAGIC OF TELEVISION!' Credits roll.
